Foreclosure in California. What if my home doesn’t sell in the Sheriffs Sale? Can I stay till it sells?
I am up to date on my payments, however, my mortgage just jumped to $5600 a month and my house just dropped $200k in value. Bad investment for me.
My question is this and please help me clarify if wrong.
Foreclosure takes 4 months. Then comes the Sheriffs Sale. Let me know if I am correct so far.
How long can I stay at my residence after the foreclosure? My understanding is, I can stay at the house till the Sheriffs Sale, then the new owner has to evict. Correct? If I am, WHAT IF NO ONE BUYS THE HOUSE IN THE SHERIFFS SALE? CAN I STAY TILL IT SELLS?

If the home fails to sell at the sheriffs sale….the bank will take over and they will have to evict you if you refuse to leave.
