What are my rights as a tenant in a foreclosure?

Hello. I have a month to a verbal agreement with the homeowner months in New York. Recently stopped paying the mortgage and the house going into foreclosure. I have the documentation of the Attorney handling again in November. My lanlord states I have to keep paying the monthly rent of $ 400. Is this true? I've heard from other sources that can continue to live at home without paying the owner home until the bank gives me a 60-day notice to move. Thanks for all your help in advance!
